Elemental Wellness utilizes a state-of-the-art device called the QuantaCann to efficiently and safely test our flowers for three of the primary cannabinoids (THC, THCA, and CBD), and to provide us with an accurate measurement of moisture in each sample which helps determine if the cannabis is safe for consumption. It does this using Near-Infrared Spectrophotometry (NIRS) to analyze cannabis flowers and granular water hash, by taking a spectral scan of each sample. Essentially, gram sized samples are put through a specialized prism lens that utilize varying wavelengths of near infrared energy of the electromagnetic spectrum (anywhere between 800 nm to 2500 nm) to analyze their chemical makeup.

This is the same instrumentation utilized in pharmaceutical medical diagnostics, neuroimaging, food and agrochemical quality control, and even in sports medicine. It is much more powerful and efficient than mid infrared radiation sampling, and it is very useful in analyzing bulk material since very little preparation and tampering is needed with any given sample. With this machine, we can determine both the Pre and Post decarboxylated values of the cannabinoids contained within the cannabis and compare that specific sample to others within the QuantaCann network.
