At Elemental, we’re always proud to go above and beyond to cultivate an environment that promotes education and compassion. Accordingly, we're ecstatic to introduce our new Community Outreach Program, aimed at identifying and educating potential patients that may be unaware of cannabis’ myriad of potential benefits.

You may have already spotted our Community Outreach team at our Wellness booth at August’s Music in the Park or last week’s SoFA Street Fair.

“We plan to increase our presence at local public events,” Joe Lindsey, Director of the Community Outreach Program said. “Reaching out to the community that aren’t yet patients, and those interested in learning--particularly the senior demographic.”

The Outreach team is helping to fight the negative stigma many incorrectly associate with cannabis, while updating patients on advances made in the industry. A senior himself, Lindsey said that many older patients aren’t aware of CBD-rich medicine, and still have a “recollection of leaves, twigs, and seeds in the 60s and 70s.”

“Lack of information is a major issue leading to a negative perception--many just associate cannabis with the feeling of being high,” he said. “The amount of data out there nowadays is thoroughly convincing; we’re just trying to get that data in front of people.”

To help achieve that, Lindsey plans on visiting a plethora of retirement communities, elder care, and hospice care facilities in the coming months. He’s also begun leading a bi-weekly gathering, Introduction to Medical Cannabis, at 6:30 p.m., on the first and third  Tuesdays of every month. The class, free with your Elemental membership, touches on current trends in the industry, while also offering advice on how to get the most out of your medicine. If this sounds like something you may benefit from, you can reserve your spot by e-mailing [email protected].

“With our Intro class, we're trying to engage with patients of any age, beginner or veteran, who want to learn about or even just talk about cannabis," Lindsey said. "There are a lot of folks who are curious about it, so we're here to try to help them find answers."

You can find Joe and the team at several upcoming Bay Area events, the next of which will be the Rock N’ Roll Marathon, September 30th-October 1st at the San Jose Convention Center! Be sure to stop by our booth and say "Hello!"

Be well!
